Replacements for Lucas at Liverpool?
Brendan Rodgers is said to be an admirer of the Celtic player who can sit in front of the back four, stifling opposition attacks, or play as a box-to-box midfielder. The Israel international would be a smart purchase for Liverpool, as he would be relatively inexpensive, with former Celtic and Israel man Eyal Berkovic labeling Kayal as, "perfect for British football - he is strong technically very aware, really competitive and loves the speed and aggression."photo 1 of 5
Liverpool suffered badly when Lucas was ruled out for the 2011/12 season through injury last November. After making his comeback at the start of the 2012/13 campaign, the unlucky Brazilian has been sidelined for a further three months, with the Reds still barely able to compensate for the lack of Lucas' defence-shielding capabilities.
With Jay Spearing on loan at Bolton and Charlie Adam Stoke-bound, Brendan Rodgers has little midfield cover, not to mention a lack of properly defensive-minded midfielders.
