Frank Lampard has a history of proving people wrong, so Chelsea should think twice before they let their veteran midfielder leave.
On the day Harry Redknapp prepares to take his QPR team to Stamford Bridge, he has offered support to nephew Frank Lampard in a Sun newspaper column by urging Chelsea to offer the midfielder a new contract.
Here, we've unearthed a fascinating video filmed in 1996, which features Redknapp defending his nephew Lampard - then an 18 year-old learning his trade at West Ham - from criticism at a Hammers fan forum. With a young Lampard forced to sit and listen to a supporter suggest he's not good enough and is the beneficiary of favouritism, Redknapp sticks his neck out and predicts Frank Junior "will go right to the very top".
Now, nearly 17 years later, the midfielder looks to be near the end of a trophy-laden Chelsea career that has seen him become a Blues legend. Wonder what that West Ham fan would say now?
