After referee Mike Dean overruled his assistant Jake Collin to award Newcastle's second goal in their 4-3 defeat to Man United, Sir Alex Ferguson berated both officials. Dean, though, left the incident out of his full-time report meaning the Man United manager will not be punished and now Fergie has confronted his critics, which include Magpies manager Alan Pardew, who claimed the referee will be disappointed he did not do anything about his opposite number's outburst.
"The press have had a field day. The only person they have not spoken to is Barack Obama because he is busy," he said, before adding: "It is unfortunate but I am the manager of the most famous club in the world. Not Newcastle, a wee club in the north east."
Do you think Alex Ferguson should have received some sort of punishment for his behaviour on Boxing Day?
