Steve Nicol says January is a 'big month' for Liverpool with the transfer window open.

And Nicol claims a top six finish in the Premier League would be acceptable this season - so long as the club are ahead of rivals Everton in the table.

"This is a big transfer window," he said. "They need to get guys who can put the ball in the back of the net. If they do, then two or three wins can put them right up in there in the top six."
