Former Manchester United star Mickey Thomas feels it is not possible to predict who will come out on top when his old club entertain fierce rivals Liverpool on Sunday.
Thomas told talkSPORT that form going into the match has no bearing on what will happen when the teams meet at Old Trafford.
But he believes the 54 goals scored by the Red Devils so far this season is a reflection of the potency they possess in attack.
Thomas, who starred for the Red Devils between 1978 and 1981, said on Sports Bar that the Manchester club are conceding goals but are confident they can outscore their opponents.
The Welshman feels Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has a dilemma in deciding whether to try and contain United or if they should adopt a more attacking approach.
