The Mapgies have landed forward Yoan Gouffran, centre-back Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and full-backs Mathieu Debuchy and Massadio Haidara this month, while a deal for Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko is imminent.

The signing of Sissoko will take the number of French players at St James' Park to 11 and Laurens said of the 23-year-old: "Sissoko is a great prospect. He has all the attributes to do well in England."
