After their shock 3-1 loss to Southampton at the weekend, celebrity Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher conceded that the club had no chance of retaining their Premier League title.
The former Oasis guitarist blamed a lack of belief from the City players as the reason they fell 12 points behind leaders and neighbours Manchester United, while he also reflected on the Sky Blues' embarrassing defeat at St. Mary's.
“The title race was over a couple of weeks ago. I can’t remember ever seeing a great team like we've got, playing as badly as that," said the musician, who has followed the Citizens for 30 years.
“It’s not a case of them getting beat, but it was the way they got beat. It’s the first time in my life I’ve ever been speechless!”
