Taylor tells players not to target Kick it Out

PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor said he thinks it is ‘odd’ that Rio Ferdinand and Jason Roberts have chosen to target the Kick it Out campaign for their concerns over racism.

The former Bolton winger said he understood their frustrations with recent events and added that the FA created a 'festering' situation by allowing the John Terry racial abuse saga with Anton Ferdinand to drag on for more than year.

"To some extend I think it's (not wearing the t-shirts) misguided. This is a lobby group it just seems odd to aim their attention at a group, whose job is to try and send out a message against racism," told Call Collymore.

"I want football to unite people and not racism to divide it."

Ferdinand and Roberts were among several Premier League players to not wear the Kick it Out t-shirts prior to their games at the weekend.
