Stewart Robson believes that Jack Wilshere is the best talent England have produced since Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne.
The Arsenal youngster put in a mature performance against Brazil that had everyone praising him the midfielder.
Robson said: “He’s got all the attributes to be a world class player. I think he’s the best talent we’ve produced in England since Gazza.
"Eight times out of ten, Wilshere gets the other side of the first player that goes to close him down. He’s always trying to get behind the next player.
"That’s exactly how he created the chance to set up Theo Walcott, which led to Wayne Rooney’s goal.”
Wilshere was out for 17 months before his impressive return to the pitch for club and country.
The pundit continued: “My worry is whether he is getting the defensive understanding that all midfielders need. It’s not just about closing the ball down, it’s about covering for other players and have a tactical understanding.”
