Press Association sports reporter Jim Van Wijk heaped lots of praise on Brighton and their staff after they lost their FA Cup tie against Arsenal, through a Theo Walcott goal.
He said: “It was a really great cup tie. Well done to Brighton for hosting such a really good cup tie. The Amex stadium t was really really good. I’m very impressed as the set-up there is very slick and very efficient.”
After coming back twice from a 1-0 and 2-1 deficit, Brighton lost to an 85th minute Theo Walcott goal.
Van Wijk added: “For a while there I thought the cup-set would be on. But as Gus Poyet said: ‘When you see Jack Wilshere doing stretches and Theo Walcott running up and down the line, you know you’re in trouble.’
“And Olivier Giroud who had a fantastic game, seems to be growing in his stature. His second one was an exquisite take-down and finish, and on another day he could’ve had a hat-trick.
“Brighton certainly gave it a go. Will Buckley exposed Andre Santos down the right time and time again.”
