Laurens: Haidara hopes to return for Newcastle this season

Le Parisien's football expert Julien Laurens claims Massadio Haidara wants to play again for Alan Pardew's men before the end of the campaign.

The former Nancy defender was the subject of a studs-up challenge by Callum McManaman during the Magpies' 2-1 defeat to Wigan in the Premier League.

Many believed the 20-year-old would face a spell on the sidelines but Laurens, who conducted an interview with Haidara on Wednesday, insists the France Under-21 star hopes to return before the end of the campaign.
