Ian Danter

'Dants' joined talkSPORT at the start of the 2004/5 season as a Midlands-based reporter for the Football First and Kick Off Shows.

Prior to that point, he'd been at BRMB in Birmingham, commentating on Villa, Birmingham and Albion games for three years.

BRMB was also the station that gave Ian his big break in radio when he became 'Eye In The Sky' travel reporter in 1998, before rapid progression saw him become the station's drive time host within two years.

His 'Barmy Brummies' show, with its mix of music, freshly written topical sketches and parody songs became hugely popular in Birmingham and he repeated that success in 2004 when he moved to Midlands rivals Heart FM to present 'Ian Danter's Sunday Carve-Up' - a show that was nominated for an NTL Commercial Radio Award that same year. He didn't win - but it was a nice bit of Beef Wellington he had at the awards ceremony.

During his time at talkSPORT towers, Ian has been a regular contributor to H&J's show (Paul describes Ian as 'Voice Of Them All' and as having 'the definitive Trevor Francis impression') and he was also part of talkSPORT's commentary team for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Ian now covers the full remit of shows and is as likely to pop up on Drive Time or Kick Off as standing in for the Big Man on Brekkie.

Aside from his love of sport (football - particularly Birmingham City, cricket, ice hockey etc) Ian's other passion in life is KISS, the American Glam Rock titans. Such is Ian's devotion to the grease painted goons that he plays drums for Dressed to Kill, the worlds longest running KISS tribute band (www.dressedtokill.org.uk) and he regularly dons the wig, make-up and platform boots to perform gigs around the UK and Europe! It's quite a show, we're told. You can find all the latest Ian Danter news by clicking on www.iandanter.co.uk
