Derek McInnes joined Keys & Gray to discuss what went wrong at Bristol City after his departure from Ashton Gate.
McInnes was axed as City manager on Saturday following the 4-0 defeat at home to Leicester, which left the club bottom of the Championship.
“There were constraints with the financial fair play," said McInnes. "I was understanding of that and I knew the wage bill had to be halved by the start of the season and we were working towards that.
"That’s why I was bitterly disappointed because, although you would expect the pressure of results to be there, there was no indication of me losing my job.”
