Joe Cole has told talkSPORT he still has no idea who signed him for Liverpool and said he found it difficult under Roy Hodgson as the former Anfield boss asked ‘me to do things that weren’t natural to me.’

The England midfielder, who is now on loan at Lille after a single season at Liverpool, admitted: "I don’t know who signed me for Liverpool. I don’t know whether it was Rafa [Benitez], I don’t know whether it was the board.

"But under Roy I got the impression straight away I wasn’t Roy’s type of player. He was asking me to do things that weren’t natural to me. It was a different way of playing to what I played. I've racked my brains trying to think but I don’t know [who signed me]."
