Brad Friedel on Blackburn, Spurs and his White Hart Lane future

rad Friedel has signed a new contract extension at Spurs, but insists he's not simply prepared to play second fiddle to Hugo Lloris.

The 41-year-old will now stay at White Hart Lane until the end of next season and, while he admits this new deal has a lot to do with his continued affiliation with the club in the future and will accept whatever role he is given, he says he still feels he has a major part to play on the pitch.

Friedel also reflects on the goings-on at his former club Blackburn, and insists he can't understand how anyone can fire a manager after just 57 days in the job, the fate that befell Henning Berg at Ewood Park earlier this week.
