Mark Bosnich looks back on the weekend's Premier League action as his former club Aston Villa crashed to another heavy defeat, this time at the hands of Wigan.
The 3-0 loss has left Villa just a point above the relegation zone and Bosnich says Paul Lambert must embark on a big spending spree in January if the club are to survive this season.
"They are in a relegation fight now and it's going to take a massive effort to pull them out," he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show.
"He [Lambert] has got to go to his board, dig his heels in and say 'listen, this is what I need', not only to stay up but to get Villa back to where they should be, which is the top six."
