Former Anfield favourite John Barnes believes Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers needs to add more quality to his strikeforce in the summer.

Barnes has been impressed with Daniel Sturridge since his arrival from Chelsea, and he is very encouraged about the early days of his partnership with Luis Suarez.

But the ex-England winger still feels his old club should recruit another proven goalscorer during the close season as they seek to re-establish themselves in the Premier League's top four.
