TV presenter and celebrity Reading fan, Chris Tarrant, joined talkSPORT to discuss the shock departure of Royals manager Brian McDermott.

Tarrant told Mark Saggers & Micky Quinn that he believes the boss’ brutal sacking was orchestrated by the club’s new Russian owners, and that it was a pointless decision, especially after McDermott was named Premier League manager of the month as recently as January.

The 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' host also revealed he isn’t confident that his side can avoid the drop this season, but also believes McDermott did the best he could with the limited resources he had access to.
