Former Pakistan cricket captain Salman Butt has been sentenced to two years and six months in jail for his part in a spot-fixing betting scam.

The incident took place last year during last summer's Lord's test against England and involves the bowling of deliberate no-balls.

Mohammad Asif has been sentenced to 12 months in jail and young bowler Mohammad Amir to six months, after hearing mitigating circumstances.

The UK-based agent Mazhar Majeed has been jailed for 2 years and 8 months, although the judge admitted his sentence could have been as long as four years had he not pleaded guilty.
