Andrew Strauss and his men trudge off the field after a disappointing day

After resuming the day on 104-6 England were looking to pile on the runs and post a good lead over their opponents but instead they lost their wickets quickly.

Anderson (4), Broad (4), Strauss (56) and Swann (16) all fell adding only 37 runs to the overnight score.

Pakistan, however, took the game by the scruff of the neck and Younis Khan’s 115 not out, ably assisted by Azhar Ahli (75) as they finished the day two on 222 for 2.

Andrew Strauss’ men will be disappointed by their efforts with the ball and will have to improve significantly if they are to win the third Test and avoid an embarrassing whitewash in the United Arab Emirates.
