Bell out of Pakistan Test series

Ian Bell will miss England's four-match Test series against Pakistan this summer after breaking a bone in his foot in a one-day international against Banglasdesh.

The 28-year-old Warwickshire star fractured a metatarsal in his left foot attemtping to take a catch in the second ODI in Bristol on Saturday.

Nick Peirce, the England and Wales Cricket Board's chief medical officer confirmed that Bell underwent routine surgery on Monday, but he will definitely be sidelined for the remaining Test matches of the summer.

England's four-match series against Pakistan begins on July 29.
