Ferrari have escaped further punishment for using team orders at the German Grand Prix.
The Italian team instructed Felipe Massa to move aside and gift Fernando Alonso victory at Hockenheim, contravening F1 regulations that ban team orders which affect the outcome of a race.
Ferrari were subsequently fined €100,000 by race stewards and ordered to attend a disciplinary hearing in Paris to answer a charge of bringing the sport into disrepute.
The FIA's world motor sport council could have stripped Alonso of the victory, docked the team points or imposed a further fine.
However, Angelo Sticchi Damiani, president of Italy's CAI Motorsport Federation, has revealed that the council on Wednesday agreed unanimously not to impose further sanctions.
The sport's governing body are also reported to have proposed that the rule banning team orders, which was brought in eight years ago, should be scrapped.
Alonso is currently fifth in the drivers’ standings, 41 points behind leader Lewis Hamilton, while Ferrari are third in the constructors’ championship.
