    FA Cup third round draw: Holders Chelsea face Southampton

    The FA Cup third round draw has handed holders Chelsea a tough away tie with Southampton as they look to retain the trophy.

    The Blues have endured a tumultuous fortnight with Roberto Di Matteo losing his job and Rafael Benitez being brought in to replace him, much to the annoyance of the Stamford Bridge support.

    And they will now head to St Mary’s at the start of January to meet Nigel Adkins men.

    Elsewhere, Tottenham play host to League One Coventry City in a rematch of the 1987 cup final. Championship promotion hopefuls Watford face a trip to Premier League champions Manchester City.

    And the winner of Lincoln City v Mansfield Town will be looking to create their own giant killing story as they take on Liverpool.
