Jonathan de Guzman wants to stay at Swansea after League Cup win

Jonathan de Guzman has declared his aim to stay at Swansea City after his loan spell from Villarreal ends at the end of the season.

De Guzman scored a brace in the club’s 5-0 Capital One Cup win over Bradford. The win means they will be in the Europa League next season. It was the Swans first trophy in their 101-year history.

"Everyone knows that I am very happy here and I am playing well. We will see what happens.

"It is great motivation to play in Europe and that will hopefully attract players. It is great that Swansea are on the map.

"Swansea have done very well this season and I think that we are capable of winning more and hopefully that can happen."

Manager Michael Laudrup would love to keep De Guzman at the club and hopes the attraction of playing in Europe next season will help him clinch his signature on a permanent basis.
