Ten-man Stoke booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup thanks to a 2-0 win against Crawley.
The League Two side had made it to the fifth round of the competition without conceding a goal, and their chances of pulling a shock result against their Premier League opponents were given a lift when Rory Delap was sent off during the first-half.
Delap stretched to make a connection with the ball but brought down David Hunt in the process and received his marching orders.
But the Potters recovered to take the lead after 42 minutes through a Jonathan Walters penalty, after Ryan Shawcross was fouled in the penalty area.
Tony Pulis’ side added a second and booked their place in the last eight of the cup in the 52nd minute as former Spurs striker Peter Crouch headed home.
