Le Tissier - 'I wouldn't be in too much of a rush to work for Cortese'

Former Southampton striker Matt Le Tissier has criticised the club’s chairman Nicola Cortese for the sacking of manager Alan Pardew last month.

Le Tissier also poured cold water on reports linking Phil Brown with the managers job when asked about reports on Wednesday morning where Brown confirmed to the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast that he had held talks with Cortese regarding the vacant managerial position.

Le Tissier told Hawksbee & Jacobs: “I just picked up a local paper this morning and Nigel Adkins has been slashed to odds-on favourite for the job so there’s all sorts of things going on down here.”

“It’s an interesting one I’m sure there are a lot of people interested in the job, but I can’t say that I’d be recommending them for it. Unfortunately when you see that our manager gets a 4-0 win away at Bristol Rovers then gets the sack a couple of days later.

“What kind of chairman are you going to be working for? I wouldn’t be in too much of a rush to go and work for that chairman if I was them.”
