James Vaughan will be allowed to make his loan switch to Crystal Palace permanent if he impresses at Selhurst Park.
The Everton striker has moved to Palace on a three-month loan and is available for Saturday's trip to Reading.
Vaughan, 22, has struggled to command a regular starting place in the Everton side and spent last season on loan at Derby and Leicester City.
George Burley has taken the striker on loan and Vaughan will be offered a loan extension in January with a view to a permanent move if he impresses in London.
