Neil Warnock has heaped praise on referee Mark Clattenburg following QPR’s 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.
In an incident filled game Clattenburg was quick to assert his authority dismissing Forest’s Radoslaw Majewski for a two-footed lunge on Adel Taarabt in the first-half.
And at the end of the second-half he waved away QPR protests for a penalty after Wayne Routledge went down in the box.
But Queens Park Rangers boss was unreserved in his praise for the match official, saying: “I thought [Mark] Clattenburg was absolutely fantastic today.
“That’s what we’ve missed in the Championship, refs like him.
“I thought he was unbelievable today, he was so in control.”
Warnock also refused to admit that the draw, which leaves his side six points clear at the top of the league, gave his side reason to be confident that they will get promoted, adding: “Cardiff have got Forest next week and Norwich are at Leeds. Everybody’s got difficult games.
“There’s no such thing as an easy game. All I know is we’ve got another game gone, there’s 15 games to go and everybody will tell you, they’d rather have points in the bag.”
