Neil Warnock claims Luciano Becchio’s Leeds career might not be over – despite the striker handing in a transfer request.
But, when asked whether the Argentine’s career at the Yorkshire club is over, Whites boss Warnock said: “No, I don’t think so. From my point of view you’ve got to see what happens in the next four days.
“The transfer window is a nightmare for managers, I’ve seen players in this situation go, but I’ve also seen them stay.”
Leeds are reportedly interested in Bradford City star Nahki Wells, who has helped the Bantams to the Capital One Cup final, and Warnock insists he won’t let Becchio leave the club until another striker is found.
“Whatever happens we can’t let him go unless we get a replacement in,” he added. “Everything seems to be last minute in the transfer window.
"It seems other teams don’t want to let their players go until the last minute so sometimes you can’t do your own business until then.”
