Championship round-up: Forest and Posh record high-scoring victories

A sensational hat-trick performance from Radoslaw Majewski helped Nottingham Forest end a three-game losing streak with an emphatic 6-1 win over Huddersfield at the City Ground.

The visitors took the lead through James Vaughan, but Forest replied with four first half goals, including the Polish midfielder’s trio and a good finish from on-loan Norwich man Elliot Ward, while Henri Lansbury and January signing Darius Henderson completed the scoring.

Relegation-threatened Peterborough came out on top of another high-scoring game, beating Millwall 5-1 at The Den.

Lee Tomlin bagged a brace for the Posh, while James Henry pulled one back for the home side in the first half. But further goals from Tommy Rowe, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and George Boyd ensured the win as Boro take a step towards safety.

Elsewhere, Cardiff's lead at the top of the Championship is down to only five points after they suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to promotion-pushing Brighton, with goals either side of half-time from Andrea Orlandi and Leonardo Ulloa, while second placed Hull put pressure on the Welsh side with a 2-0 win over Blackburn.

Wolves move into the relegation places after a 2-1 loss to Barnsley. Bjorn Sigurdarson took the lead for Wanderers, while goals from Chris Dagnall and Jacob Mellis completed the Tykes’ comeback.

Crystal Palace strengthened their hopes of promotion with a 2-1 home win over Bristol City, with goals from Glenn Murray and Stephen Dobbie.

Charlton climbed the table with a 2-1 win over play-off hopefuls Leicester, while Charlton beat Ipswich 2-0.

Elsewhere, Derby and Bolton played out a 1-1 draw, while Middlesbrough’s visit to Burnley ended as a goalless draw, as did Birmingham’s tie against Sheffield Wednesday.
