Clarke Carlisle admits he's loving life at Preston - but says he will have to win round new manager Graham Westley if he is to make his loan move permanent.
Preston-born Carlisle is on a season-long loan from Burnley at Deepdale but no decision on his future has been made yet.
New manager Westley is proving to be a hard taskmaster at Preston - he recently axed four players by text message - and Carlisle admits everyone is on trial at the club.
"I love being back at Preston and games when you play for your hometown club could be considered more important especially from a pride sort of perspective," Carlisle said.
"It's great to be back here and we're obviously looking to the top six as a target for this season. On my future, I am here for a season long loan but nothing has been decided yet after that.
"There have been no discussions yet and the new manager has to run the rule over me personally before the time comes when a final decision can be made."
