Michael Dawson has told talkSPORT that Tottenham are targeting the Premier League title this season.
The north Londoners made great strides last season, pipping Manchester City to fourth spot and a place in the Champions League.
And Dawson says he and his team-mates are convinced they have enough quality to challenge the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United for top spot this time around.
Asked if Tottenham are serious title contenders, the 26-year-old told Drive Time: “Yeah, at the start of the season you always set your goals high and our aim is to finish as high as we can - last year it was to finish in the top four and luckily we achieved that.
“We’re realistic, we know how hard it is to finish in the top four, never mind win the league, but we’ve got a fantastic squad and we believe we can achieve anything.”
Dawson also revealed his delight at finally making his debut for England, after coming on as a substitute in the midweek win over Hungary.
“It’s been a long time coming waiting for my first cap but I finally got it and thoroughly enjoyed it,” he added.
