Spurs have only managed one win in their previous nine Premier League games, and saw Newcastle overtake them in the battle for fourth place earlier in the afternoon.
After being dumped out of the FA Cup by Chelsea last weekend and with time running out to rescue their dream of Champions League qualification, Redknapp is facing a decisive final four games of the season.
But he has been forced to concede that he doesn’t have the resources to compete as he would want.
“We had what we had today and that was all,” Redknapp said. “The only option today was whether I started Aaron Lennon or not.
“Other than that I couldn’t stand there and say there were other people on the bench who should be in the team or who deserved to be in the team."
