Phil Neville has apologised for diving in this afternoon’s Merseyside derby against Liverpool at Goodison Park.
The defender was booked after falling to the floor during a tussle with visiting defender Daniel Agger, who laughed when Neville was shown the yellow card.
The former Manchester United player said: "It was a stupid thing to do by myself.
"I don't find myself at that end of the pitch and I actually thought Agger was coming to take me out.
"Rightly so I got my butt kicked at half-time, put myself under pressure with the yellow card and I couldn't really commit to tackles in the second half.
"I won't do it again, that's for sure."
