Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted that playing games on a Thursday and then a Sunday is making his players lethargic.
Pardew’s men were lucky to get all three points as they scored the winner seconds before the whistle in the 2-1 win over West Brom.
He said: “I was very frustrated in the second half, we had no rhythm. We kept turning the ball over to a good side and you can’t do that against a good side like West Brom.”
“All our fans have paid a lot of money this week so at least it gave them something to cheer about at the end.
“You can’t take away that physically and emotionally we are down, the stats suggest that and in the second half we looked tired.”
