Nigel Spackman has told talkSPORT that Liverpool need to sign a new striker in January because Luis Suarez doesn’t score enough.
The feisty Uruguayan has only netted 28 times in his Anfield career so far in 64 appearances.
And Spackman feels Brendan Rodgers needs to bring in a more natural goalscorer in January to get on the end of the chances his side are creating.
He told Weekend Sports Breakfast: “[Brendan Rodgers] is trying to bring a brand of football that Liverpool supporters like to see. It’s pass and move and creating chances but there has to be an end product and that is missing at the moment, for me.
“Luis Suarez is there and looks like scoring goals but he doesn’t score enough for the chances that are created. They need someone in the Ian Rush/John Aldridge mould to finish those chances off.
“The general play is good it’s that final third [w] and so Brendan, in the transfer window in January, will hopefully get a couple of quid to try and find that player.”
