Queens Park Rangers and Reading are both still without a win in the Premier League as they stumbled to a 1-1 draw at Loftus Road.
Super Hoops boss Mark Hughes has come under fire following his side’s poor start to the season and that will intensify as his assembled squad were unable to get a win on home soil over the promoted side.
The Royals took the lead after 16 minutes when former Super Hoops star Kaspars Gorkss fired home from close range after Sean Morrison’s header came back off the crossbar.
Djibril Cisse miscued a strike as the home side attempted to get themselves on level terms and after 39 minutes Esteban Granero’s fine, curling free-kick was tipped magnificently onto the woodwork by Alex Mccarthy.
Adel Taarabt tried his luck with several long range efforts but never really troubled McCarthy who seemed confident between the sticks.
But his goal was eventually breached after 66 minutes when Cisse was able to flick the ball over a defender and into the far corner from six-yards after Jose Bosingwa’s cross from the right.
Jimmy Kebe almost gave Reading the lead again moments later but after racing the length of the pitch he hit the ball high and wide of Julio Cesar’s goal.
In the 83rd minutes a sensational break from Cisse allowed Taarabt to run in on goal but McCarthy produced another breathtaking save to deny the mercurial Moroccan.
And in a rip-roaring end to the game Kebe and Cisse both went close but neither could muster a winning goal for their sides
After the result Reading remain 18th while QPR moved up to 19th, above fellow strugglers Southampton.
