Reading manager Brian Mcdermott has slammed rumours of a rift between him and owner Anton Zingarevich.
It had been reported that the Royals boss had been annoyed with the Russian giving him a list of transfer targets, which he deemed unsuitable.
But McDermott has insisted he has no problems with Zingarevich, admitting that they always talk about football and possible signings.
“That’s nonsense,” he told Matchday Live. “I don’t know where that came from. We went for a drink after the Arsenal game. We talked about players and we talked about football.
“He watched the game. We went to a local pub in west London. I stayed in the hotel with him that night. We had a few drinks with the locals. They all talked about the game the night before. We talked about different players, went back to his hotel, had a drink back there and then went to bed.
“We woke up the next day, had another chat and that was it. We all discuss players. We all discuss football. He loves his football.
“He comes up with players, I talk about players and Nick Hammond, our director of football, talks about players and then we come to a conclusion whenever the transfer window is.”
