QPR boss Mark Hughes is refusing to discuss a permanent move for Joey Barton to join Marseille and says he will make a decision on his future later in the season.
Barton joined the French club on transfer deadline day following a nightmare spell at Loftus Road, where he was handed a 12-match ban and stripped of the captaincy following his sending-off against Manchester City on the final day of last season.
The former Newcastle midfielder has enjoyed his short spell in France and has already said he would like to make a permanent move to Marseille.
But Hughes says there has been no communication between the two clubs to extend his loan move and will wait to see how Barton performs over the next few months.
Hughes said: "He seems to be enjoying the experience. It's good for him. We're not at the point to discuss a permanent deal at the moment though, it's too early for that."
