Walcott pleased by ruthless Arsenal performance against Tottenham

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has praised his side’s merciless 5-2 victory over rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The Gunners took full advantage of Emmanuel Adebayor’s red card as they came back from 1-0 down to run out rampant winners at the Emirates.

And the England winger dismissed claims from Andre Villas-Boas that Spurs were the better side.

Walcott said: “We won the game in the end. That shows the better team won. They did have good patches I’ve got to admit that but I felt that in the whole scheme of the game we deserved to win.

“We were very ruthless going forward today. We had five different goalscorers which hasn’t happened for a while and it’s funny because it was the same scoreline as last year, who would have thought that.”
