Jamie Mackie has revealed that the Queens Park Rangers players know they are just as accountable as Mark Hughes for their poor form this season.
And he hopes that under new manager Harry Redknapp the squad they can keep improving as they try to avoid relegation.
He told talkSPORT: “It’s football we all know how it works regardless of who is in charge, it doesn’t matter, results matter. Everyone is accountable. The players who have been playing and the whole squad who are involved [are accountable].
“As a team, collectively, we thought we let the football club down last week [losing 3-1 to Southampton]. When I say the football club I mean the hierarchy and the fans, people who pay their money to come and watch this team.
“This week there has been a lot of talk about the minimum requirements and what’s expected of you and at least today we showed a lot of fighting spirit and hopefully with a touch more nous and being less naïve we can have a chance of staying up.
“I can’t wait to work for the new boss and hopefully he picks us up.
