Exclusive - John Hartson claims Arsenal fans are living in the past

John Hartson believes Arsenal fans are living in the past and are fooling themselves if they believe the Gunners can win the Premier League title this season.

Arsene Wenger’s side are fifteen points behind leaders Manchester United and five points off Tottenham, who occupy fourth place.

The north London side lost 2-0 to Swansea on Saturday and Hartson claims the result should not be seen as a shock, because Arsenal don’t have the players to challenge for top honours anymore.

“Arsenal fans are living in the past,” he told the Weekend Sports Breakfast show. “They don’t have the quality players they used to have.

“The fans moan and groan about current results but they just don’t have the quality in that side.

“Why do Arsenal fans seriously think they can be title contenders? Arsene Wenger himself has said a top four finish is acceptable, that’s where Arsenal are at the moment.”
