Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes his side can still win the double despite seeing his side get dumped out Europe and go six points behind in the title race this week.
And Mancini added he felt their opponents were fortunate to get the win, but he feels his men can still retain their Premier League title and lift the FA Cup.
He said: “I think Manchester United are strong but they are also lucky. They are a lucky team sometime but today we showed we can win title again.
“[A six point deficit] is not a big problem. We don’t deserve to stay six points behind. We can win the double.
“A record has to finish, sometimes this can happen, and it happened today in a game we didn’t deserve to lose.
“We wanted to win the game and we had the chance to win the game. We are disappointed because we didn’t deserve to lose. We played but they won. That was the game.”
He also admitted he was disappointed with Mario Balotelli’s poor performance which saw him hauled off after 52 minutes and replaced by Carlos Tevez, who put in an impressive cameo performance.
“I think Mario should do more. If he plays like this the team can do nothing. I think he is young and has quality but he should work more. Carlos changed the game because Mario didn’t play very well.”
