Swansea City 1-1 Man United: Michu earns Swans a point

    Michu celebrates scoring for Swansea

Swansea City have drawn 1-1 with Manchester United at the Liberty Stadium.

The results means Manchester City are now just four points behind the Red Devils heading into the Christmas period.

Patrice Evra headed home the opener when he glanced in a Manchester United corner, as Swans star Leon Britton failed to clear the ball at the back post.

That seemed to spur the Welsh side on though and, in the 29th minute, Michu equalised when he smashed home David De Gea's parry, from a Jonathan de Guzman shot.

The second-half was an open affair with both sides searching for a goal to win the game.

Robin Van Persie had a great chance to get the Red Devils back in front when he tried to guide the ball home from an Ashley Young cross, his effort hit the bar though and Swansea survived.

Wayne Rooney was gifted a chance to slide Javier Hernandez in with around 20 minutes to go, but his square ball was easily picked off by Ashley Williams.

Michael Carrick also had a chance to give the away side the lead when his header rattled the woodwork after a corner, but the partity between the two sides remained.
