Brendan Rodgers will not take charge of his Liverpool side as they take on QPR at Loftus Road on Sunday due to a virus.
The Northern Irishman has been laid low by a bug along with Liverpool head of performance’s Glen Driscoll and goalkeeper Brad Jones and they are being kept away from the rest of their club-mates to minimise the risk of any illness spreading.
In Rodgers' absence Colin Pascoe and Mike Marsh will deputise.
In a statement, club doctor Zaf Iqbal said: "It was impossible for Brendan, Glen and Brad to attend the game. They are not fit to be at the match and any contact with the rest of the squad could cause the bug to spread to more of the playing staff."
