Freund delighted as Assou-Ekotto and Parker return from injury for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager has praised the club’s medical team as Scott Parker and Benoit Assou-ekotto made their return to the first-team in their 3-0 FA Cup win over Coventry.

The duo have been long-term absentees for the club, leaving Spurs’ squad a little light as they look to retain their spot in the top four.

But, thanks to the Lilywhites’ physiotherapists, Andre Villas-Boas has a nearly fully fit squad to pick from at the turn of the year, and this has delighted Freund.

“It’s good news for everyone,” he said. “The medical team are working hard and working really well so that we have only got Younes Kaboul and William Gallas injured at the moment.

“That’s good news because in the past normally at Christmas you have five or six injured players and we have only two. That’s good for the coaching staff.”
