Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo claims Chelsea ‘would be mad’ to let Frank Lampard leave Stamford Bridge this summer – but says he would welcome him to Turin with open arms.
The 34-year-old England midfielder’s contract expires in June and his agent, Steve Kuttner, has confirmed there will be no new offer to keep him.
Lampard has been linked with a move to Manchester United, and reports in Italy suggest Inter Milan and Juventus could also enter the race for his services.
And Pirlo would love to line up alongside the former West Ham star.
He told Tuttosport: "They [Chelsea] would be mad to let him leave. He’s still one of the best in the world.
"If he wants to play in Italy I would welcome him to Juventus with open arms. Lampard could have another four years at the top in Italy."
