Former Everton star Neville Southall has told talkSPORT that the club CAN make the top four if they make a couple of much needed signings.
The Toffees have been impressive all season and currently sit fifth, just three points behind third placed Spurs.
And their ex-goalkeeper reckons strengthening their options in January could aid their bid to qualify for the Champions League.
He told the Weekend Sports Breakfast: “I think they can get top four. It’s going to be a crucial month for them if they can get a couple of players in to freshen it up.
“They’ve had a few injuries. Darron Gibson’s still out for a bit and Hibbert’s still out, so they do need a couple of extra bodies and a couple of different options.
“I think they’ve been more attacking this season and that hasn’t helped the goals against column. If they can tighten up a bit more at the back while still going forward they’ve got half a chance of finishing fourth.”
And, additionally, Southall believes that David Moyes must keep Moroccan midfielder Marouane Fellaini during the transfer window.
“I do [think they can hold on to him]. If you sell in January you’re sending a massive bad message to the fans. We’ve got to keep hold of Fellaini.
“Fellaini has been brilliant for us but I think sometimes when they do get frustrated they tend to go a little bit too long too early at times. He’s been great for us but we need to have a different way of playing.”
