Exclusive - Nobby Solano: Aston Villa need to sign experienced stars

Nobby Solano believes Aston Villa must sign more experienced players if they’re to stay in the Premier League this season.

The Villans are perilously placed in the relegation zone, following a 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle, with the future looking bleak for Paul Lambert’s side.

And former Villa Park favourite Solano claims the Scot must dip into the transfer window, before it’s too late, in the hope of landing some players with Premier League know-how.

“Aston Villa is a great club,” he told the Sports Bar. “I can remember the team that Martin O’Neill had two or three years ago. I thought they would reach the top four or five because they had great players.

“Then they started selling their stars like James Milner and Ashley Young and it destroyed the team.

“I’m surprised they are in this position now. They have so many young players and they need some more experienced stars.”
