Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez was unhappy after striker Demba Ba was injured in the 3-2 defeat away at Newcastle.
Ba was substituted after 43 minutes was caught in the face by Fabricio Coloccini's boot.
Benitez said: “We lost Demba Ba with a broken nose in a big incident when a penalty was not given.
“Then there was a free kick and the referee said carry on. We should have been given an opportunity to score and there should have been a red card.”
Benitez saw his side lose a share of the points as Newcastle’s new signing Moussa Sissoko scored the winner in the closing minutes.
